Digital fabrication is a type of manufacturing process where the machine used is controlled by a computer.
There are a huge range of digital fabrication techniques. The important aspect that unifies them is that the machines can reliably be programmed to make consistent products from digital designs.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY AT HACK BELGIUM?
ON DAY 1: TO INSPIRE
On Hack Belgium Day 1 you will come up with an idea to solve a social challenge. And how does one come up with a new idea? By adding unexpected, new elements together. Let’s say, for instance, that you’re interested in the health care challenge. Attending a workshop on aerospace technology can vastly open your mind to new possible solutions regarding ageing and preventative care.
ON DAY 2: TO HELP YOU PROTOTYPE
On Day 2 of HackBelgium you will turn your idea into a blueprint for a project. The technology experts will help you find technological solutions to make your project idea better, faster and more powerful. Once you know which technology you’d like to deploy, you can learn more about them in the workshops. And you can straight away start prototyping, both digitally and physically!
ON DAY 3: TO HELP YOU PLAN YOUR PROJECT
The final day of Hack Belgium you’ll work on pitching and planning your project execution. The
technology won’t be there anymore, but the experts will still be around to help you plan your project.
