LABRIQ is a modular “plug and play” laboratory. This project is considered an application on the “lab-on-a-chip” technology, which is a scaled down laboratory by definition. Instead of fully scaling down and automating a laboratory process onto a chip, LABRIQ is a concept where common lab units are scaled down to fit the palm of your hand.

Focusing on the North Sea, the project will not just cultivate one species but create a whole ecosystem, starting with algae and seaweed (the renewable energy sources could be used for extra light and heat) and ultimately resulting in the breeding of fish for human consumption.
