DATE: December 20, 2018
TIME: 11:30 to 14:00
WHERE: Green Office, Zwartzustersstraat 2, 3000 Leuven
Last September, Circular Flanders and its partners hosted a bootcamp for entrepreneurial youngsters. In a week’s time, participants explored the crossroads of circular economy and retail through discussion, company visits and project work. In doing so, the ‘bootycampers’ (as they like to call themselves) developed valuable professional skills, knowledge and networks, supporting them to continue their entrepreneurial endeavours.
But the journey doesn’t stop there. In order for the developed concepts to benefit from the skills acquired, Circular Flanders provides for an action-driven follow-up. The idea is to support the bootycampers with turning their ideas into real and viable projects. This is an approach that we – Team Hack Belgium – can only applaud and encourage.
Joining forces with Hack Belgium
Rather than cheering from the sideline, we have decided to co-organise with Circular Flanders the first in a series of ‘return events’ to the bootcamp: the Circular Consumption Hack. On December 20, bootycampers, students and key stakeholders from the Circular Consumption ecosystem will get together in KU Leuven’s Green Office for what will be an alternative take on our Hack&Cheese events.
It will be a ‘tasty’ opportunity for young entrepreneurs, companies and organisations to explore areas of common interest and opportunities for collaboration.
Fashion – Packaging – Furniture
On our figurative plates will be three concrete topics that keep today’s circular consumers AND distributors – and those are quite a few – in a challenging exercise of trial, error and success. We’ll zoom in on how fashion, packaging and furniture can be part of a consumption pattern that is circular, accessible and of high quality.
Three circular bootcamp teams will introduce us to each of these topics, giving a short pitch of their ideas and proposed projects. They will fill us in on the real obstacles they experience in the early stages of their entrepreneurial endeavours. Consider it a simultaneous opportunity to engage and a true source of inspiration for the hacking exercise that follows!
